WE ARE THE WORLD(USA for Africa)lyrics

Michael Jackson We are the World (USA for Africa) Lyrics:

There comes a time when we heed a certain call

When the world must come together as one

There are people dying

and it´s time to lend a hand to life

The greatest gift of all

We can´t go on pretending day by day

That someone, somewhere will

soon make a change

We are all a part of Gods great big family

And the truth, you know,

Love is all we need

[Chorus:]

We are the world, we are the children

We are the ones to make a brighter day

So let's start givin

gthere´s a choice we're making

We're saving our own lives

it´s true we'll make a better day

Just you and me

Send them your heart so they'll

know that someone cares

And their lives will be stronger and free

And as God has shown us by turning stones to bread

So we all must lend a helping hand

[Chorus:]

We are the world, we are the children

We are the ones who make a brighter day

So let's start giving

there´s a choice we're making

We're saving out own lives

it´s true we'll make a better day

Just you and me

When you´re down and out, there

seems no hope at all

But if you just believe

there´s no way we can fall

Let us realize that a change can only come

When we stand together as one

[Chorus:]

We are the world, we are the children

We are the ones who make a brighter day

So let's start giving

We're saving out own lives

it´s true we'll make a better day

thriller:most successful music vedio-GUNNIES WORLD RECORDS

MICHAEL JACKSON:

''MOST SUCCESSFUL ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME''

Michael Jackson's Thriller is a 14-minute movie and a music video for the song of the same name released on December 2, 1983 and directed by John Landis, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jackson. Guinness World Records listed it in 2006 as the "most successful music video", selling over 9 million units.[2]
Often referred to as the greatest music video ever,
[3] Thriller proved to have a profound effect on popular culture,[4][5] and was named "a watershed moment for the [music] industry"[6] for its unprecedented merging of filmmaking and music.

"Thriller" was the first Michael Jackson music video to feature the logos for
Columbia Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Epic Records Productions at the beginning. It was less a conventional music video and more a full-fledged short subject or mini-film: a horror film homage featuring choreographed zombies performing with Jackson. The music was re-edited to match the video, with the verses being sung one after the other followed by the ending rap from Vincent Price, then the main dance sequence to an instrumental loop, and a climactic dance segment with Jackson singing the choruses. During the video, Jackson transforms into both a werecat and a zombie; familiar territory for Landis, who had directed An American Werewolf in London two years earlier. The video was also a crossover because MTV at the time did not regularly air black musicians. Jackson became one of the first African American musicians to prominently feature on the station.
Co-starring with Jackson was former
Playboy centerfold Ola Ray. The video was choreographed by Michael Peters (who had worked with the singer on his prior hit "Beat It"), with Michael Jackson. The video also contains incidental music by film music composer Elmer Bernstein, who had previously also worked with Landis on An American Werewolf in London. The video (like the song) contains a spoken word performance by horror film veteran Vincent Price. Rick Baker assisted in prosthetics and makeup for the production. The red jacket that Jackson wore was designed by John Landis' wife Deborah Landis to make him appear more "virile".[7]
Jackson, who at the time was a
Jehovah's Witness, added a disclaimer to the start of the video, saying:

Due to my strong personal convictions, I wish to stress that this film in no way endorses a belief in the occult.

To qualify for an
Academy Award, "Thriller" debuted at a special theatrical screening, along with the 1940 animated motion picture Fantasia.
[
edit] Plot

Jackson dancing with the undead.
It is the late 1950s. A teenaged Michael and his unnamed date (
Ola Ray) run out of gas in a dark, wooded area. They walk off into the forest, and Michael asks her if she would like to go steady. She accepts and he gives her a ring. He warns her, however, that he is "different". A full moon appears, and Michael begins convulsing in agony – transforming into a horrifying werecat. His date shrieks and runs away, but the werecat catches up, knocking her down and begins lunging at her with his claws.
The scene cuts away to a modern-day movie theater where Michael and his date – along with a repulsed audience – are actually watching this scene unfold in a movie called "Thriller" starring
Vincent Price. Michael's date is scared, but he is clearly enjoying the horror flick (part of the dialogue of the unseen film contains Landis' signature line "See you next Wednesday" before the audience screams again). Frightened, his date leaves the theatre. Michael hands his popcorn to the stranger next to him, and catches up to her, smiling and saying "It's only a movie!" Some debate follows over whether or not she was scared by the scene; she denies it, but Michael disagrees.
Michael and his date then walk down a foggy street, and he teases her with the opening verses of "Thriller". They pass a
graveyard, where corpses begin to rise from their graves as Vincent Price performs his rap. Michael and his date then find themselves surrounded by the zombies, and suddenly, Michael becomes a zombie himself. Michael and the undead perform an elaborate song and dance number together, followed by the chorus of "Thriller" (in which Michael is changed back into human form, due to his refusal to wear massive amounts of make-up while singing), frightening his girlfriend to the point where she runs for cover.
The girl is chased into an abandoned house where Michael (who reverts back to zombie form) and his fellow zombies back her into a corner. As Michael slowly reaches for her throat, she lets out with a blood-curdling scream, only to awake and realize it was all a dream. As a human Michael calmly asks "What's the problem?", he offers to take her home. As the two depart, Michael glances back at the camera, grinning and reveals his yellow cat-like eyes (accompanied by Vincent Price's one last haunting laugh).
After the credits, when they concurrently show the zombies dancing again, the disclaimer humorously states, "Any similarity to actual events or persons living, dead (or undead) is purely coincidental." Landis'
An American Werewolf in London likewise offered this disclaimer. After the warning the zombies dance back to the grave then another zombie comes into view and gives a horrifying grimace to the camera that freeze frames before blood runs down the screen and the screen turns to black.

RECORDS AND OTHER ACHIVEMENTS OF MJ

US chart records anJackson's
Thriller (1982)
remained at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart for thirty-seven weeks, second only to the soundtrack for West Side Story.[1] Thriller spent a record 80 consecutive weeks, more than a year and a half, in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. It was the first of only three albums that have remained in the Top 10 for more than one year (along with Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill and Celine Dion's Falling into You). It is the only album to have sold more copies in the United States than any other in two separate years, topping the sales charts in 1983 and 1984, and selling over 29 million copies to date. Worldwide, its sales total has been estimated at 55 million copies by the Guinness Book of World Records, and at 110 million by Jackson's management; either figure would make "Thriller" the top-selling album in the history of music.
Five of Jackson's albums, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, Invincible, and the soundtrack to Michael Jackson's This Is It, debuted at number one in the United States.
Jackson was the first artist to chart four Top 10 singles from one album (Off the Wall).
Jackson was the first artist to chart seven Top 10 singles from one album (Thriller), a feat matched only by his sister Janet and Bruce Springsteen.
Jackson is the only artist to chart five number one hits from one LP, Bad ("Bad", "The Way You Make Me Feel", "Man in the Mirror", "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", and "Dirty Diana").
With "Thriller"'s "Billie Jean", Jackson became the first artist to simultaneously have the number one album and number one single on Billboard's Pop Charts and Black Charts.
Following changes in Billboard's methodology, Jackson became the first artist to have a song debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 ("You Are Not Alone").[1]
Jackson has had 13 #1 singles on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart, trailing only The Beatles (20), Mariah Carey (18) and Elvis Presley (18 or 17, depending on source). This total does not include "We Are the World", co-written by Jackson and credited to USA for Africa, or the four #1 singles by The Jackson 5.
Jackson had 28 top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100, one less than The Beatles (29), and trailing Elvis Presley (36) and Madonna (37d achievements

mj affair with animation

We've seen the moonwalk,

the one-handed glove,

the anti-gravity lean,

and that's just to

mention a few of

the innovations

introduced by the late Michael Jackson. Sometimes people even forget how MJ reinvented himself from a child prodigy into a global pop sensation. But he has this sense of creativity and showmanship that is hard to match which leads him to try many things - one of which is cartoon animation for his music videos.
Michael Jackson's song "Leave Me Alone" in the 1987 album Bad prominently featured 2D cartoon animation as its motif. Throughout the entire video, Jackson was super-imposed as a scaled real-life character.
source:http://animation.blogspot.com
The song talks about the personal and public turmoil encountered by Michael after the success of his 1982 album Thriller. At this time, the tabloids and other gossip columns were targeting him with different rumors about his lifestyle. Among these were Michael's obsession with purchasing the bones of the Elephant Man and sleeping inside a hyperbaric chamber to counter the effects of aging.
The cartoon animated video was used by Michael Jackson as a rebuttal for all these charges. The narrative of the video starts with an amusement park with a collage of images attributing to his success, along with certain images such as a shrine to his popular friend Elizabeth Taylor (who gave him the moniker King of Pop). In the end, it is revealed that Michael Jackson is the amusement park and he struggles away, destroying the park in the process.
Leave Me Alone was directed by Jim Blashfield and it was most notable for winning the Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video at the Grammy Awards of 1990. It was also shown in the feature entitled Moonwalker. Here is the animated video of Leave Me Alone:
Michael Jackson helped popularize the utilization of music videos as a promotional piece and as an art form. Another of his videos which prominently used computer animation effects was Black or White, a strongly worded song contradicting racial discrimination - but was more known for its scenes of violence and sexualized dancing. The most recognizable animation effect used in this video was morphing.
Morphing is a special effect which tries to change one image into another seamlessly. The music video Black or White used this concept in the tail-end part of the video where people of different ethnicities, gender and ages were shot in a bust shot point of view and was made to appear like it is morphing while moving its neck from left to right. Here is the video:
This was another revolutionary touch from Michael Jackson and, together with Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991, the video helped set a trend in special effects and computer animation. Now, advanced computer software is available to create realistic simulations - but nothing will surpass that level of genius when it was first introduced by Black or White.
I'll list some of his most special awards here as a tribute to Jacko:
World Music Awards' Best-Selling Pop Male Artist of the Millennium
American Music Award's Artist of the Century Award
Bambi Pop Artist of the Millennium Award.
Double-inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (The Jackson 5, 1997; solo, 2001)
Multiple Guinness World Records (eight in 2006 alone),
13 Grammy Awards,
13 number one singles in his solo career-more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era
sale of over 750 million records worldwide
Rest in peace, MJ.
